BuddyFight Pack Vol.2 Review

 
A short review of the Promo Cards in the BuddyFight Pack Vol.2


As per the last volume, this second set also comes with a total 8 type of cards. (1 card in each pack)
From left to right:
Danger World>Armorknight Red Dragon>Size3, 9000Atk, 4Crit, 8000Def>Call Cost: 3 Gauge.
A Crit 4 Size 3 monster with no [Act] attributes, pretty high on Attack and Defend though a hefty 3 gauge must be paid. 

Dragon World>Burning Lance Dragon>Size1, 4000Atk, 3 Crit, 3000Def>Call Cost: 2 Gauge.
Size 1, Crit 3 easily a Powered up version of the <Spike Shoulder Dragon> with an extra gauge to pay for raising the Attack and Defense by 1k each.
Katana World>Noble Thief Ninja, Nezumijiro>Size1, 2000Atk, 1Crit, 4000Def>
This little Size1 ninja has the ability to discard 1 gauge from the opponent upon a successful Damage. Play a trio Link Attack and instantly take 3 Gauges away from your opponent.
Ancient World>Spell>Wrath Trigger>Call Cost: 1 Lifepoint and 1 Gauge
Much anticipated card for Ancient World users. Wrath Trigger keeps a Monster on the field by paying a single Lifepoint and 1 Gauge. It also allows that Monster to have [Counterattack] for that turn. Very deadly when used appropriately with <Duel Sieger> combos.
Magic World>Dragowizard, Medium>Size1, 1000Atk, 2 Crit, 3000Def>
This card once with another <Wizard> on field becomes a 4000Atk Size1 Card. Greatly assisting "Wizard" Link Attack combos.
Dragon World>Dragon Knight, Wittmann>Size2, 3000Atk, 2Crit, 6000Def
With no call cost, this card has quite a good Defend attributes and to add to that has the ability to 'Rest' itself, pay 1 Gauge when another <Dragon Knight> is in field to Deal 2 Crit to your opponent, [Act] skill.
Ancient World>Flame Strike Deity, Agosbruch>6000Atk, 2Crit, 5000Def>
Interesting Size2 monster card with a special [Counter] ability to put the card into the Dropzone (Lifelink 1) and in turn destroying a Size 1 opponent monster. This being an [Act], can be use in the "Main Phase" or be used as a [Counter] in the opponent's "Attack Phase" when being attacked.
Dungeon World>Master Skeleton>Size3, 8000Atk, 3Crit, 5000Def>Call Cost: 3 Gauge and 1 Soul
Average stats for a Size 3 with only a 5000 Defense and 1 Soulguard. Its ability to Call a Size 0 <Dungeon Enemy> without Cost upon enetring Field is not all that attractive until a more 'useful' Size 0 is available i guess.(Not that Card Frame is the Older version of the Dungeon Prototype design)


The Foil PR for this Volume is Ancient World's <Flame Strike Deity, Agosbruch> Really like the card but it would have been a better card if it was a Size 3 with the same ability to Destroy a Size 2 or more. But that would have been too powerful i guess.

CoroCoro Comic September Issue Review

 
Here are the BuddyFight highlights in this Issue of CoroCoro Comic~


Quite a high amount of reviews on the upcoming Extra Booster Vol.2, Trial Decks and Boosters.


From BF-EB02, <Armorknight Bahamut>, a Size 3 with 11000 Attack and Defense! [Call Cost] Discard 1 monster from field and pay 3 gauge. When monster enter field, player gain 4 lifepoints! Yet another must add super Attack monster to add to the Danger World Deck.


 (left) A stronger rendition of the Duel Dragon Demongol, <Fighting God Dragon, Demongodol Ark>. Size 2, with a 7000 Attack, 2 Crit, 4000 Defense. Takes 3 gauges as a [Call Cost] and [Soulguard] on top of an existing Duel Dragon on field~ On top of that, it has a new skill [Counter] [Act] that Destroys any opponent Weapon Attacks by discarding 1 card from hand.
(right) Yes, its Magic World's Asmodai! in Danger World!!! <Armorknight Asmodai> Size 1 with 5000 Attack, 2 Crit and 1000 Defense. Takes 1 gauge and 1 monster from the players field to call and its [Act] Destroys BOTH left and right monsters on the opponent field when it enters the Field~ Neat card to clear the field off any 'Gao Formation'  layouts.


This card, <Armorknight Goblin> has a very interesting attribute. Though a Size 0, 1 Crit with a low 1000 Attack and Defense, this card allows the player to put a Size 1 'Armorknight' Monster from the Dropzone into the soul. And when it is destroyed, the card in its soul, goes to the players hand~ A very good card to return cards like  <Armorknight Asmodai> to your hand.


And yes, more Dragon World Support. New sub-class in fact. The 'Sky Knights' class specializes in 'Healing'. <Azure Sky Knights, Drum>(left) and <Azure Sky Knights Leader, Crimson Arrow Dragon>(right) both have Healing attributes, Drum when it Attacks and Crimson Arrow when a 'Sky Knight' is in the dropzone when it enters the field, gain 2 life.
A new version of the 'Jackknife' is also added in the review. <Jackknife, Savior>(bottom) Size 2, 6000 Attack, 3 Crit, 5000 Defense. This time with [Move] ability and [Soulguard]. So when combine with the 'Jackknife' soulguard loop combo, the <Jackknife, Savior> is a moving shield with 4 turn tanking power. (note:gauge intensive thou)


Another Size 1 with [Penetrate] is also added to the release. <Warhammer Dragon> 3000 Attack, 2 Crit, 2000 Defense. [Call Cost] 1 Gauge.


CoroCoro even added a review on the NEW "Garugantua Punisher" Dragon Saber~


The new 5 Critical Impact! <Gou zan! Gargantua Punisher!" in short, when opponent has 5 or less lifepoint, both players no center monsters, pay 5 gauge and deal 5 Crit. Same no negate nor reduce is allowed.


The Ultimate Form of the Jackknife Dragon is also revealed <Jackknife, Goldlitter>! This Jackknife is an <ITEM>, yes, not a size monster on field but can be equipped as an <Item> With a 5 Critical, 10000 Attack and Defense with [Penetrate], It comes with a harsh [Call Cost]. The player's Lifepoint must be 5 and below, A 'Jackknife' monster with at least 3 cards in its Soul must be discarded from Field and Pay 2 Gauge. A hefty 6 card to dropzone [Call Cost]! 
But when this card is equipped, it Cannot be Destroyed or Returned to hand! WUT!!!! Thou it is classed as an <Item> it is to be regarded as a Size 3 count when in field, so you Cannot call another sized monster on the field. Any Link attack combos deal to the player will also be limited to 2 Critical points. So if player link attacks a 4 Damage point, it will become 2. If your link attack only deals 1 Critical, it will still deal 2. Simple.
So to defeat the restriction for Critical Damage, Don't Link attack.


A few Monsters from the new <Darkness Dragon World> are also revealed. <Darkness W> has the special ability to deal Critical Damages indirectly to the opponent. The above, <Dead Dragon, Death Gaze Dragon> Size 1, 6000 Attack, 1 Crit, 1000 Defense. [Call Cost] 1 Gauge. has the ability to Deal 2 Critical to the opponent when it Destroys an opponent monster.
So if a link attack of three <Dead Dragon, Death Gaze Dragon> destroys a monster, the opponent takes 6 Critical Damage!!!!!


Other Monster like <Bloody Moon Dragon>(left) Size 2, 7000 Attack, 2 Crit, 1000 Defense.Deals 1 Crit Damage to opponent when an opponent monster is Destroyed.
<Death Ruler, Bariol>(right) Size 1, 1000 Attack and Defense, 2 Crit. is able to deal damage to the opponent player even when there is a monster in the center position!
